Educational Specialist Degrees

An educational specialist (Ed.S.) degree is a post-master's degree. Ed.S. programs are relatively new. As such, many people might be unfamiliar with this degree. People generally complete an Ed.S. because they want to gain further knowledge and expertise after getting a master's degree but are not interested in getting a doctoral degree. 

Historically Ed.S. programs are offered in Educational Leadership / Administration, School Psychology, and Educational Technology / Instructional Technology. These programs are often offered in the evenings or on weekends or even online to enable working adults to attend. These programs tend to be 30 - 36 credits, however, School Psychology programs tend to require about 60 credits.
